Incredibly consistent Hinkle Farms-bred Tarabi (3f o/o Indian Bay) added another graded stakes placing to her record on Saturday with a second place finish in the G3 Dogwood Stakes.

Tarabi raced just behind old rival Echo Zulu in the tightly packed field over seven furlongs at Churchill Downs with the race getting more serious around the far turn. Racing in fourth early on, she picked off two of the horses in front of her at that point and was a clear second when flashing under the wire behind Echo Zulu.

Tarabi has never finished worse than third in her six career starts with the G3 Dogwood being her fourth stakes placing in those six starts.

A $240,000 yearling purchase at the 2020 Keeneland September Sale from the Hinkle Farms consignment, Tarabi’s Kantharos half-sister was purchased for $570,000 by Tarabi’s trainer Cherie DeVaux at this year’s sale.
