Hinkle-bred Sir Rex (4g o/o Include the Aussie) continued to improve his record in his 2023 debut with a third place finish in a Penn National Allowance on January 13.

Racing over one mile on the dirt, Sir Rex was one of the back markers of the field as he raced five wide into the first turn. Moving in a few paths down the backstretch, Sir Rex rallied in the stretch to be a clear third for trainer Carl O’Callaghan and owner Patrick Sheehy.

Sold for $47,000 at Keeneland September to Adalberto Lorano in 2020, Sir Rex became a $105,000 2-year-old the following April. Breaking his maiden in his second start, Sir Rex has finished third in his other four starts since making his debut last September.

Sir Rex is out of the two-time winner Include The Aussie, who is the dam of three winners from three runners led by the six-time winning Hinkle-bred Gold Included. Include The Aussie is a half-sister to the dam of the multiple graded stakes winner Gimme Da Lute with her family including Italian champion and New Zealand Grade 1 winner Willie Cazals and French and Italian champion Joanna.
