Fourth last time out in the James W. Murphy S. at Pimlico in May, Current was scratched from the Manila S. last month with a fever. Coming back Sunday in the Monmouth Park Jersey Derby, Current made a late rally in the stretch to finish 2nd after looking for running room in the final turn.

The GIII winner and son of Curlin has a record of 2-1-2 in 9 starts with earnings of $272,050.  Current was bred, raised, and sold by Hinkle Farms. He was purchased by his current connections in the 2017 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. He is trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Nik Juarez. 

Current is out of the Storm Cat mare Crosswinds, who a daughter of GI Oaks winner Flute.  Crosswinds is the dam of GI Ashland Winner Weep No More.  A 1/2 sister by Frosted will sell as Hip 326 at the upcoming Keeneland Yearling Sale.
