It was another impressive performance for Hinkle-bred Daydreaming Boy (2c o/o Denali Dreamscape) in the Future Stars Stakes on December 5 when the colt finished second in the race.

Stumbling at the start, Daydreaming Boy quickly gathered himself to stalk the pace in the six-furlong dirt event. Making a serious move in the turn, Daydreaming Boy had his head in front as they turned into the stretch and dueled with the winner before grudgingly giving in.

Daydreaming Boy proved to be clearly second best with the third placed runner 8 ¾ lengths behind him at the wire.

A weanling purchase by Shawhan Place from Hinkle Farms at the 2020 Keeneland November Sale, Daydreaming Boy is out of three-time winning Denali Dreamscape. That mare also produced the stakes winning New Boss and two-time winner Jamie Dreams.

Denali Dreamscape is a half-sister to stakes winners Tax Refund, Sophia’s Song, and Grade 2 placed Unbridled Beauty and one of four stakes producers out of Dreamscape. Dreamscape herself is a full sister to champion Housebuster.
