Coming off an impressive performance in the G3 Affirmed S. at Santa Anita in June, Draft Pick nearly made it two stakes wins in a row on July 14th when he was caught at the wire by Once On Whiskey in the G3 Los Alamitos Derby. 

The Equibase chart summarized his run with the following:

"DRAFT PICK stalked inside then a bit off the rail, bid between horses on the backstretch and second turn, took a short lead while being floated out some into the stretch, inched away in the drive, drifted inward in the final furlong and was caught on the line."

 Draft Pick is a 3-YO Candy Ride colt out of Firehouse Red (Arch).  He was bred, raised and sold Hinkle Farms.
