After three wins in his last four starts, Hinkle Farms-bred Flatter Me Please (3g o/o Please Be Discreet) earned his first line of blacktype when third in the Listed Steel Valley Sprint Stakes at Mahoning Valley.

Flatter Me Please raced in third throughout the running of the six-furlong dirt race just behind the two leaders. He put his head into second as they passed the furlong pole as he battled another horse but had to grudgingly give way, finishing third by a head with the fourth placed horse 6 ½ lengths behind them.

Sold for $50,000 by Hinkle Farms at Keeneland September before bringing $65,000 as a 2-year-old, Flatter Me Please is out of the winning Discreet Cat mare Please Be Discreet.

That mare is a full sister to Grade 2-placed Onetwentyeight and a half-sister to three other stakes performers, including multiple Grade 2 winner Tackleberry. The horses on Flatter Me Please’s page also include Grade 1 winner Outofthebox and Grade 2 winner Unlimited Budget.

Please Be Discreet’s Blame yearling sold for $130,000 from the Hinkle Farms consignment at this year’s Keeneland September Sale.
