It was another stakes victory for New Boss (3f o/o Denali Dreamscape) at Ellis Park when she won the Pea Patch Overnight Stakes.
The 5 ½ furlong dirt race saw New Boss spend the first bit of the race dueling for the lead before taking clear command as they approached the final quarter of the race. Down the stretch, New Boss didn’t have any challengers and used the final furlong to build his lead from three lengths to six lengths at the line.
A Hinkle Farms-bred filly, New Boss was bought by racing owners Barry and Carol Conrad for $45,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2019. She is trained by Bret Calhoun and now has four stakes placings in five stakes starts.
