The wins kept coming for More Than Looks (3c out of Ladies’ Privilege) on Saturday with a Jefferson Cup Stakes win for his second career stakes victory.

Third last out in the G3 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes, More Than Looks was nearly last in the one-mile turf race this time with over 10 lengths separating him from the rest of the field. He slowly closed the distance down the backstretch and took the chance of swinging wide into the stretch to make his run.

By the time the field hit the final furlong, he had the leader in his sights and was rapidly closing ground on him. It took until the final sixteenth for More Than Looks to take command but once he did, there wasn’t much keeping him from the win.

In the end, the colt scored by 2 ¾ lengths with the third placed runner 6 ¼ lengths behind. It was the fourth victory in seven starts for More Than Looks, who is trained by Cherie DeVaux for Victory Racing Partners.

More Than Looks is the second foal out of the stakes winning Ladies’ Privilege, who is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Takeover Target. The duo are out of a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winning Critical Eye.

His dam has a juvenile Uncle Mo colt named Calhoun, who sold for $115,000 as a yearling and an American Pharoah yearling filly who sold to Mayberry Farm for $525,000 this year.
