Hard-knocking Hinkle Farms-bred Media Luna (3f out of Moon Dreamer) added another stakes placing to her record on Sunday with a second-place finish in the PR-G3 Clasico Roberto Clemente Stakes.

It was a late closing run for the filly, who was over 10 lengths off the leader at one point. Running five wide down the stretch, Media Luna set down to focus on running down the eventual winner in the 1 1/16 mile race but had to settle for second in the end.

Media Luna has proven to be a spectacular runner for her owner with four victories led by a Puerto Rican Grade 2 win to start her career then a five-race win streak after finishing second in another Puerto Rico Grade 3 last November. In all, she has won nine of 11 starts with two other top two finishes for $153,829 in earnings.

Her nine wins include wins in the PR-G2 Clasico Dia de La Raza Stakes, PR-G3 Clasico Versets Jet Stakes, and PR-G3 Clasico Dia de la Mujer Defensora.
