Mise En Rose to Goodwood After Latest Victory

Charlie Appleby is plotting a step up to Group company for Mise En Rose after her victory in the Price Bailey EBF Stallions Fillies' Handicap.

The Godolphin-owned three-year-old was coming off the back of struggling on softer ground in the Listed Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot and finishing well down the field.

However, the good to firm going on the July Course proved just to her liking and, with impressive New Zealand jockey James McDonald on board, came home by one-and-a-quarter lengths from John Gosden's Eternally.

"At Ascot, she travelled well, but just couldn't finish it off," said Moulton Paddocks-based trainer Appleby, who has the Group Three Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood as a possible target.

"Coming here on quicker ground and bringing her back in trip, it wasn't a concern, but that's why we rode her handy, but James gave her a lovely ride and she just appreciated getting back on quicker ground.

"She has probably deserved a look at black type company now. We will take a look at the Group Three over seven at Goodwood.

"If the ground is suitable we will roll the dice."
