Second at Keeneland last out, More Than Looks (3c out of Ladies’ Privilege) returned to the winner’s circle at Ellis Park on Saturday with an Allowance victory on the turf.

Going off as the race favorite, the More Than Ready 3-year-olds raced in midpack five lengths behind the leader for much of the run and as has become his custom made a big run as they turned into the stretch. More Than Looks had to steady for a stride when bumped by another rival in the final furlong but still kept his momentum as he flew up the outside of the field.

The other runner had no chance against his charge with More Than Looks getting to the lead just before the wire to win by a neck for his second victory in four career starts.

Trained by Cherie DeVaux for Victory Racing Partners, More Than Looks is the earner of $136,435 with his first start coming on February 19.

Victory Racing Partners purchased More Than Looks for $135,000 at the 2021 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. He is the second foal out of the stakes winning Ladies’ Privilege, a full sister to multiple graded stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Takeover Target with their dam a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winning Critical Eye.

His dam has a juvenile Uncle Mo colt named Calhoun, who sold for $115,000 as a yearling, and an American Pharoah yearling filly.
