It was another stakes placing for Hinkle Farms-bred New Boss (3f o/o Denali Dreamscape) in the Tepin Stakes at Churchill Downs.
New Boss raced a length behind the pacesetter in the one-mile turf race and settled into that spot for much of the run. She was still holding her position into the stretch but was just outfinished by two other horses to finish third by half a length, only a head behind second.
It was the third stakes placing for the Hinkle Farms-bred filly. New Boss was bought by racing owners Barry and Carol Conrad for $45,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2019 and quickly paid off her purchase price within three starts.
