Radio Days (2f o/o Remembered) stayed undefeated in two starts on Thursday with an 8 ½ length Aqueduct Allowance Optional Claimer victory.
Racing five lengths behind the leader soon after the break in the seven-furlong dirt race, she rushed up to race a length behind the pacesetter half way through the race. When Dylan Davis started to urge her at the quarter pole, Radio Days picked up the pace and soon had the lead.
From there, the race was all but over as Radio Days started to pull away from the field to have three lengths on the field with a furlong left. By the time she hit the line, she was 8 ½ lengths in front to earn Thoroughbred Daily News Rising Star honors.
The Gun Runner filly was a $750,000 Keeneland September purchase by Robbie Medina as agent from the Hinkle Farms consignment.
She is a half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Bowies Hero and out of a Sky Mesa half-sister to Grade 2 winner Mint Lane and the Grade 1-placed dam of Grade 3 winner and G1 Kentucky Derby runner-up Firing Line.
