Running in stakes races most of her career, Hinkle Farms-bred Radio Days (3f out of Remembered) added a fourth stakes placing to her career on Sunday with a second-place finish in the Boiling Springs Stakes.
Racing just a little over a mile, Radio Days was a close third throughout the first half of the race in a tightly packed field before securing second around the far turn. She had to deal with another horse taking her a little wide going into the stretch but didn’t let that throw her off her stride, racing a clear second three lengths in front of the third-place finisher.
Finishing off the board only once in her career for earnings of $252,200, Radio Days was a $750,000 Keeneland September purchase by Robbie Medina and races for Joseph Allen under the guidance of Shug McGaughey.
Radio Days’ dam had a Hinkle-bred Nyquist filly this year for Hinkle Farms.
