The talented Radio Days added a second stakes placing to her record on Sunday when the Hinkle Farms-bred (3f out of Remembered) was second in the G3 Beaumont Stakes.
Returning to Keeneland for the first time since selling through the Hinkle Farms consignment for $750,000 at the 2020 Keeneland September Sale, Radio Days put in a solid showing to improve an already impressive resume. The filly raced over four lengths off the leader for much of the seven-furlong race and still had five horses in front of her and six lengths between her and the leader by the time they entered the stretch.
The second choice in the race, Radio Days put in a solid showing to finish second for Joseph Allen and Shug McGaughey with only Matareya proving too good for her.
“She broke OK, and then I just took my time with her,” said rider Joel Rosario. “I took her inside for a little bit, and she handled everything well and kept running. She tried hard and came with a little bit of a run so I’m happy with that.”
Radio Days has two wins and two seconds in five career starts with both those seconds coming at the graded stakes level.
