G1 Spinaway Stakes second Tarabi (2f o/o Indian Bay) added another Grade 1 placing to her record on Friday with a third-place finish in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Tarabi raced just a little over a length behind Echo Zulu around the track in the 1 1/16-mile dirt race with Juju’s Map keeping the pressure on her. It wasn’t until the final furlong that she weakened just enough to let Juju’s Map get just in front of her with the fourth place finisher 7 ¾ lengths behind Tarabi.

Tarabi ends her juvenile year with three top three finishes in three starts for $270,600 in earnings, including a 5 ½ length debut victory in August.  

Tarabi was a $240,000 purchase by Pilgrim Racing at the 2020 Keeneland September Yearling Sale from the Hinkle Farms consignment as one of the top sellers for sire First Samurai.
