Hinkle bred and owned Wexx (3f o/o My Rachel) won a second career race on Thursday with an Allowance Optional Claiming victory at Fair Grounds.
Wexx raced near the back of the pack in the one-mile turf race a few paths off the rail for three quarters of the race. Jockey James Graham asked Wexx to pick up as they passed the quarter pole and she was quickly off. It took until the furlong marker to grab the lead but she built a lead over the rest of the field in the closing stages for a two-length victory.
Wexx is out of the Grade 3-placed My Rachel, who has already produced stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Orbolution, multiple stakes placed runners Rachel’s Ready and Firehouse Red.
Firehouse Red is also the dam of Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Draft Pick. My Rachel herself is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Jack Milton and Grade 3 winner Peace Preserver.
